Notes for Teachers

Teacher Familiarisation
We invite you to arrange a free familiarisation visit with the Education Co-ordinator prior to the school visit.

Transport & Snack Break
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your start time (or earlier if you want to take a snack break first.) At lunchtime all children must be supervised by the school.

Adult Supervisors
Please provide one adult for every 10 students. These adults are free of charge. Any additional adults pay a reduced admission charge. We recommend you give all supervisors a copy of our 'Guidelines for Adult Supervisors'.

Pre-visit Checklist
Name tags are helpful for younger students. It is advisable that students wear suitable footwear as bare feet are not appropriate because of our crushed shell paths. Ensure students dress for the weather. Bring your schools First Aid kit as this is a requirement of health and safety.

Wet Weather
Don't worry if it is wet! We will offer an alternative programme if the weather is inclement.

Village Guidelines
Our buildings and artefacts are old and delicate and must only be handled gently if you are invited to do so. Do not breach the roped off areas, or go up the stairs. Please report any damage to staff.
