Internships Offered
Consolidate your current research
skills with practical experience
in the museum industry. Apply for
a volunteer internship at the Howick
Historical Village. Full museum
training is provided and we will
tailor the internship to suit
you. Minimum expectation 1 day
a week (10am-4pm) for 6 months.
Current projects include registration
duties, training in object handling,
accessioning objects, preventative
conservation, museums database,
research, photography and curatorial
tasks.
We are seeking reliable committed
students able to volunteer their
time to a dynamic living museum
and in return we will provide
highly sought after opportunities
to gain real experience, learn
industry skills and network.
Last years interns have successfully
gained:
- a paid internship at Auckland
Art Gallery
- a position as Collection Assistant
at Devonport Navy Museum
- a position as Archives Assistant
at Archives New Zealand.
