Volunteers

Volunteers are highly valued people at the Howick Historical Village. So diverse is our need for volunteers that there is bound to be an area or areas in which your contribution will give you pleasure and be of value to us too.

When you become a volunteer you join a team of people who work together to carry out the many tasks that need to be done to keep the Village going. You may choose to work in a public role (in costume) or behind the scenes in a support role. Wherever you choose we will value your contribution. Initial and ongoing training will be provided.

At present we have volunteers working with children in the education team, looking after gardens, working with archives and photographs, repairing and restoring historical artefacts, working at a variety of crafts, and being part of our monthly Live Days.

Ring us at (09) 576 9506 and make an appointment to meet with our Volunteers Coordinator, or fill in a form at the front desk, next time you are passing.
