Getting There

By Car

Coming from Auckland City:

  • Get on the Southern Motorway (towards Hamilton)
  • Exit on the South Eastern Highway (Exit 437) and go straight ahead, following signs to Pakuranga.
  • After 1.6km, go straight ahead on to Pakuranga Motorway.
  • After 1.7km, go left on to Ti Rakau Drive, and at the traffic lights, turn right on to Pakuranga Road.
  • After 2.4km (at the top of the hill) turn right into Cascades Road.
  • Take the second road on your left (Lady Marie Drive) and you will see the Howick Historical Village straight ahead of you, half a kilometre away.

Coming from South:

  • Come off the motorway at Manukau, and turn right into the Great South Road at the traffic lights.
  • Continue straight ahead through two more sets of lights, and at the third set, turn right into Te Irirangi Drive.
  • After 7.6km continue straight ahead on to Botany Road (passing Botany Towncentre on your right).
  • After 1.4km, turn left into Cascades Road.
  • At the roundabout, take the first exit (it veers slightly left)
  • After 1.1km, turn right into Lady Marie Drive, and you will see the Howick Historical Village straight ahead of you, half a kilometre away.

By Bus

  • Howick and Eastern Bus Company buses depart from Britomart in downtown Auckland city. For more information and bus timetables visit www.maxx.co.nz or phone (64-9) 273 3660.
  • Make sure the driver knows you want to get off at Lloyd Elsmore Park in Pakuranga, not in the modern Howick Village!

By Ferry

  • Fullers Ferries run a regular service from Downtown Auckland to Half Moon Bay, which is a five to ten minute taxi ride from the Historical Village. For more information and ferry timetables, visit www.fullers.co.nz
