Internships

Internships are offered throughout the year and best suit students or graduates looking to gain hands on experience in the heritage industry. However, other internships are available.

All unpaid internships require a commitment of one day a week for 6 months and receive full training and support. Spaces are limited.

Heritage Internships:

  • Caring for collections: Help look after the museum’s artifacts
  • Curatorial and display projects: As a museum, we display certain items for the public to see
  • Costumed guide helping visitors explore 1850′s Auckland: Guides teach the history of Colonial Auckland

Other Possible Internship Opportunities:

  • Event planning: Help plan our Live Days, Christmas event, and Halloween event
  • Marketing: Assist in updating social media, fliers, brochures, and other means of marketing the village and its events
  • Sales: Learn sales techniques with a focus on tourism
  • Management: Learn about managing a non-profit with a focus on tourism and museums work
